Awwww, this really was fer tute...

I already knew that he had a diamond that my Grandma had given him almost 2 years earlier, and he knew that I was getting impatient, but I was totally surprised when he actually did it. It was just any old Sunday afternoon, and I had just gotten home from the grocery store, and was unloading groceries, and he came downstairs and said, "I think I did something bad". If you know him, you know he has a tendency to say this somewhat frequently, like he broke a glass, or spilled something. I probably rolled my eyes and said what now? He said, "I think I broke your letterpress". Me: "What?! How?" Him "I was pushing down on the handle really hard and I think I broke it"...  I followed him upstairs to the see what he had done. I look at the letterpress, its all inked up, and in the chase is a piece he had designed, saying "Will you Marry me?" Letterpress design is backwards, so it took me a little bit to read it, and then to put two and two together as to what was happening... I finally looked up to him, and met his eyes, that were a little teary, and he asked me out loud this time. He hadn't yet got the ring set, but he went to a local jewelry designer and had that done shortly there after, he picked it all out, and I love it! It's a diamond from the first pair of diamond earrings my grandpa gave my grandma when they moved to Arkansas, (she had lost the other one to the pair) and now its happily on my finger.
